Restaurants can make a one-time or recurring donation of hearty “Family Meal”-style food for at least 100 people. The format is catering-style, with food that can be easily scooped and served—no need for serving utensils, just catering pans of food. We offer both hot and cold pick-up options. Use the Family Meal Calendar to book a donation date and we will take care of the rest.
Food waste is consistently a concern in the restaurant industry, particularly during catered events where substantial portions of pre-made meals often go untouched. Consider directly donating this excess food by following simple guidelines, such as ensuring the items have never left the kitchen and have been stored at a safe temperature. To date, excess food from catered events has provided over 5,000 individual meals to those in need.
If making a direct donation isn't feasible, consider hosting a fundraiser. Reach out to vendors to provide supplies, and invite staff who wish to participate to donate their time and tips. These events have the potential to generate a significant amount of funding to support Buffalo Resilience.
Buffalo Resilience is founded on the power of connections. Use your network of friends and colleagues to help spread the word. The more individuals and restaurants involved, the lighter the burden on those participating. Talk with other restaurants to introduce them to our program and welcome them into our extended family.
Leverage your established vendor relationships by reaching out and encouraging their involvement to support your efforts. All donations can be addressed to Buffalo Resilience, a 501(c)(3) organization, and are tax deductible. Vendors can contribute through product donations or make a financial contribution.
Offer a special cocktail on your menu, and a designated portion of the proceeds will be directed to Buffalo Resilience.
On selected menu items, you can add an option to add a specified dollar amount to support Buffalo Resilience. At the end of each week or month, a donation can be made by your restaurant for this accumulated amount.
Add a menu option to purchase a "Family Meal." This simple gesture enables your guests to support Buffalo Resilience by buying a full-price menu item. There's no need to prepare anything, and the restaurant incurs no cost—just donate the item price.
We frequently receive donations of stock or partial meals. Collaborate with us, using your kitchen and culinary skills to help prepare meals—either individually boxed or catering style.
